I think there's far too much heavy ammo in the crucible. With increased heavy ammo perks, mag increases, the amount they spawn a match and the fact that a whole team can get it means that there are far too many kills being gotten with heavy weapons. If you're unlucky enough not to get any heavy ammo then, unless you have your super, you may as well just hide until it's all gone. I think this affects the crucible in a very negative way.
The idea of 'heavy ammo' stems from power weapons in Halo. Now, I believe most people will agree that power weapons were handled in a very balanced way, as only one person could pick them up and every power weapon had a weakness and wasn't a complete better version of the starting weapons. I mean, primary weapons have no chance against an lmg and an intelligent player can easily avoid fights against special weapons.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say, is that if you're going to have power weapons without a strong enough weakness for non-users to combat against, then you either reduce the appearances they make in a match or the amount of ammo that's received. I also want to say that I'm not trying to complain about the existence of heavy weapons, because I do like the whole idea of it and how they can change the tide of a match. I just think that players can get a bit too much of it and therefore encourages negative behavior from players without it. I'd like to know what anyone else thinks so please share your opinions.

People are much more aware of and rewarded for getting heavy weapon ammo. Because the special weapon ammo isnt spawning fast enough. Which yes leads to more people carrying loaded heavy weapons but its nothing a few headshots, grenades, supers cant counter. I don't think it needs to change yet. Lets just see how it will feel after a couple of months.

I never run for the heavy, I don't care if I get it. My goal is to stop you from getting it. If that means grabbing it when I know you'll kill me so nobody gets it.

Stop. Just stop. Before we haven't any ammo in crucible and we're all forced to stab our way around. Seriously. This is what happened to special. Wha wha shotguns. Stop. Just. Stop.

They should remove it altogether. I wish I could tell bungie the last time I was killed by something other than: Thorn, the last word, a super, grenade, or a rocket. I literally could not tell them. That says a lot about how diverse and balanced there game is. I spawn get nova bombed then radiance then fist of havoc then arc blade then nova bomb then rocket then felwinters sniper then arc blade then rocket then rocket. I'm not kidding either.

Special ammo spawns too often as well. Also ammo regen should not work in crucible.
-
Finally someone who isn't an idiot. 3 times a match way too much should only be once per match if anything

Disagree, heavys part of the game. If I spot a heavy user ill at the leaat trade kills with him / her its called headshots...
-
The heavy was s strategy aspect of the game and should had been left alone, while I have yet to feel a impact from the special nerf. With the right perks and strategy a team can gain leads form a large gap. But because people complain about heavy, it then strategy. The special was bound to happen to everyone blink slide shotguning. The special became a primary. You must seem the type that wants the game yo be like cod. When there just note offered here.

Edited by Xii Alpha iiXx: 4/27/2015 3:30:12 AMWhat i find odd, is that in combined arms heavy actually spawns faster then special weapon. I would have more rockets then special ammo. But this isn't Halo, and there are ways to combat heavy, it was special. People complain about last round but what better way to kill someone on a 15 kill streak then with a good last round? There is a balance to heavy and it is special weapons. But with the recent change to special, players are more likely to go on longer kill streaks and dominate. People can't see big picture idea. By changing the special they have increased the effectiveness of heavy. Balance does not mean everything being equal or having most weapons with the same ttk. It is about having different style weapons that can shut down other weapons. I'm going on a tangent. Sorry.

Just because you dont get any, and your tired of getting rockets shoved up your ass dont mean you need to ruin it for the rest of us.

Disagree.

Completely agree! The first 3 minutes of the game are really fun. But are then interrupted by heavy. Then 2 minutes of heavy go by, followed by 1 min of real gameplay, then heavy again. There should be 1 heavy spawn at the 6 min mark.

Disagree but your entitled to your opinion

Bring back the original heavy ammo system. I love the mayhem when heavy drops. Stop crying it only last for a few minutes. No more nerfs.
-
#StopTheNerfs Crucible has been nerfed multiple times to make the casuals happy. Especially in regards to heavy no longer dropping from players and very little special ammo. Heavy is fine as is. Stop trying to nerf it into oblivion. Dumb thread

Edited by Photonic Origin : 4/26/2015 11:15:18 PMYup, Skirmish games can be won by using a heavy as your primary!
-
No heavy drops and everyone starts with max ammo for whatever heavy weapon there using. Much more realistic. You use it it's gone . tactical use of your ammo throughout the game.
-
the lag should be the #1 concern and after that kill time balancing on the guns. i don't even pvp that much and those 2 things are screaming apparent ammo drops and the rest are trivial and heavy ammo exists to possibly change a game if a team uses it right. without heavy it would be very hard to recover when you're down 4k points.

Seems fine to me, half the people who grab it are dead within a minute anyway as they just run out into the open feeling invincible.
