Let me Google that for you.
-
Ok go on, I'll wait here.
-
You'll be waiting a while then, if you don't recognize sarcasm.
-
Oh no man, guess I won't be enlightened then. Look, if you consider the last city or reef nations, they might be. But the old nations, the nations that exist in present, ceased to exist. No point in an US themed Gjallarhorn. The US has no meaning anymore, same as any other real life nation.
-
Of course the old nations do not exist. However, pregolden age materials DO exist, and can conceivably be placed on newer items. Just as symbols of nations that haven't existed in hundreds, or thousands of years are still known, and used today.
-
Cool man, but this isn't enough reason to make Gjallarhorn US or any other dead nation themed.
-
Nor is it a good reason NOT to.
-
Edited by Vardnax: 4/26/2015 9:27:51 PMThat the old nations are gone and have no meaning anymore in a world which is just Earth/Reef/humans/awoken/exo vs. evil aliens, is enough of a reason for me not to have such irrelevant things in this game. But if you want that shit so bad, why not go ask Bungie to implement it. If they answer you, post it here, I'm curious what they say. I guess they would say something like "This doesn't fit in the Destiny universe."
-
I don't actually care if it is implemented or not. I would like more customization, and this would be a way to do it. But not the only way. I only wanted to correct your faulty logic.
-
What about my logic was faulty?
-
Try all of it? The thought that nations do not exist in Destiny is pure fallacy. The fallen are divided into nations. House of wolves, Kings, exiles, etc... The human forces are divided between the reef and the last city. The vex seem to be divided into at least two. And the thought that the symbols of a dead nation cannot exist in the future is faulty as well. You'll notice a lot of Roman, Greek, and Norse symbology and nomenclature in the game.
-
Well I thought it was obvious that I was talking about real life human nations, since this thread is about a real life (obviously human) nation. I never said the symbols or names of ancient mythologies and shit cannot exist in the future, but a flag of a (gone human real life) nation on a weapon in the game is too much to me, unless the weapon has been manufactured in that nation when it still was alive. It screams patriotism (which is probably the reason this thread has been made), which no guardian would feel about a nation that's dead much longer than any guardian is alive. Earth or Reef patriotism, put the Earth, Tower or Reef flag/symbol (if there is any) on a weapon or armor piece. That would fit to the Destiny universe and be okay.

Edited by DxohJD: 4/26/2015 10:30:00 PMThe guardians we play could potentially have been alive when the current real nations existed. The United States could very well have been thriving prior to the collapse, which is when most of the player guardians died. This conversation is over, if you cannot put together a coherent argument. Get back to me after you gather your thoughts.
-
Lmao son, what a ridiculous way to get out of a discussion. English isn't my first language, you have an advantage. I can't make clear all the things I want and I don't understand every single word you write. Bye.
-
Edited by DxohJD: 4/26/2015 10:44:50 PMIt isn't the language you are using. It is the ideas that you present that are ridiculous. And again, boy. I am not your son. Do not act a child.
-
Oh look, you're back. My ideas aren't ridiculous. You are, son. You try everything to justify flags and shit of present HUMAN REAL LIFE nations in the game. No matter how far-fetched. Then you say this conversation is over and come back after one short comment of me. Then you say it's not the language. How about having this discussion in my mother tongue? Let's see how far you get. Let's see how many sentences you will have to skip.
-
Muted.
-
Hahaha okay son. Very entertaining.
