Depends on multiple factors but my first instinct would to scan the room slowly looking for anything useful weapons etc. Then size the person up identifying their strength, speed, any weaknesses such as messed leg or hand, and then I would look for weapons even a consealed mini pistol leaves some buldge if not carefully hidden.
After I account those factors obviously my fight or flight is ready and I decide whether I fight or flight.
If your curious how adrenaline works read here:
The adrenaline if used for flight has a weird scary but nice feeling to it i can run incredibly fast like it's nothing and keep that speed up until I feel safe. Shortly after that you feel tired and drained depending on how much was used/time used.
For a fight response pain seems to not bother you, you definitely still feel it though not quite strong or in my multiple experiences. It has the same muscle effect as flight where you can fight hitting really hard, really quickly and time seems slowed during the rush which allowed me to use precise attacks and dodge hits. Again after that depending on the factors, your really drained and tired.
