25000 is a pretty low cap. So low that my money seems to be at 25000 all the time. The amount you spend on upgrades isn't enough glimmer to make you even notice. But once iron banner comes everyone seem be broke because of goods costing 11500 or 12000 glimmer. But I'm here to tell you that your wallet doesn't make up all of your assets. Consumables like network keys, axiomatic beads, silken codex, and house banners are sorta like a bond or an "I.O.U." These can be cashed in at 200 a pop but the timing of when to pop makes a difference.
like I said the problem with the cap is its too low. It refills pretty fast. If your like me your glimmer is always at 25000 expect when you make a few upgrades here and there. Well instead of using those network keys to make up for your lost in 1200 glimmer, put them in your bank. You'll regain the 1200 from pvp strikes etc. But when iron banner comes you'll have 25000 glimmer and how ever many network keys, etc. You saved up.
Right now I'm at 25000 glimmer and 4800 worth in "I.o.u"s. And I just started it a few days ago

Very good point. I began saving consumables in late January, after I began playing a third character. I have around 60-100 of each one banked. I also have nearly 150 Black Wax Idols but those are only good for Eris and her ammo synths. I do not spend them with her but whenever I reach 25,000 Glimmer (which is all the time now) I just purchase a few from the Gunsmith to bring my glimmer down. NOTE: Make sure your Glimmer is not maxed when you disassemble those useless green and blue weapons and gear. Those too are a great source of glimmer. Not to mention all of those chests you open.
