666 is actually neros name in numerology. It doesn't refer to satan or lucifer himself. Nero=666 it refers to the beast because that was neros nickname. John was writing revelation in code so that the Romans wouldn't pick up the message john was writing to the church. He was warning them of an impending Nero attack.
