Bungie finally admitting things were cut from the game?

Interesting that someone at Bungie finally admitted things were held back from launch. If Trials was part of the launch then access to the reef was more than likely supposed to be available at launch (Given what we saw 2 years ago in the Vidocs). Interested to hear what people have to say regarding this. Here's the quote from the associated press interview.
The developers now regularly toss in phony bits to throw off the sleuths, but not before the data-miners were able to discover that the three-versus-three multiplayer mode called "Trials of Osiris," arguably the most substantial part of the "House of Wolves" expansion coming May 19, was originally slated to be a big part of the game from the outset. "When we were getting close to launch, we knew we weren't going to have something that was compelling," said Bakken. "I had a conversation with some of the other leads, and we came to the conclusion that it just wasn't ready yet. The data was still there, but what 'Trials of Osiris' has become is very different than what it would have been."
Edit: There seem to be some real butthurt people here, or at least people who don't understand the point of this. This is an insight to how they went about making this game. It's an indication that content was held back from launch. Is it just coincidence that everything that didn't make the base game, yet is necessary to have the full experience, was help back to be resold? I'm aware this is old news, I've had the game since day 2 and I still play it here and there. I'm not knocking the game, it's fun for what it is. This is just the FIRST time Bungie has at all addressed things being cut. Next I'd like to hear how they could justify putting "Rich Cinematic Storytelling" on the back of the box with a straight face.
