To all those 'thorn is not OP' posts.
You guys always say its not the gun, but its the player's fault. I disagree. This gun can put the best crucible player to the ground with 2 headshots. This gun IS overpowered and you thorners just don't want it nerfed.
If you want to flame me for not being good in crucible, go ahead. Idc, my skill is higher than yours anyway. I still have to see an flamer with a higher kd here...
Edit: all these scrubs flaming don't want their thorn nerfed.... ;)
Edit: most of you guys could only whine about 'lucky' headshots, so i changed that.
Yet another Edit: i'm not saying that the thorn owns me, i outgun them 80% of the time. But that doesn't take away the fact that its too powerful. A simple stability or range nerf should suffice.

Edit: Damn this post has been bashed on. The hate is real! I'm just putting down my opinion and some facts, get over it. Also, my skill actually has nothing to do with the stats of the thorn, its crazy right?

3 RepliesOnly just started playing crucible but been playing the game since the beta and day one and tbh yes the Thorn is a powerful weapon but I have beaten it with the stranger's rifle and have been outgunned by TLW, Hawkmoon, and the vex. It's not the gun that is to blame but the map design they are mainly small with bottlenecks which are perfect for the hand cannon/shotgun combo so if the maps were larger the combination would be different so please before screaming for nerfs just think about the way the game is made

11 Repliesi dont use thorn... im terrible with hand cannons... but it is not OP... high caliber rounds deal with thorners nicely (MIDA ftw)... fusions deal with thorners nicely.... the shotgun-flanking technique ddeals with thorners nicely... a sniper bullet to the dome deals with thorners nicely... red death is probably the kryptonite to thorn... any super deals with them nicely... i feel if there are enough ways to deal with a weapon, its not OP [spoiler]obligatory "git gud scrub" inserted here[/spoiler]

I ran a Dead Orbit Venation III with rangefinder and send it, and I could go toe-to-toe in any 1 on 1 with thorn. Its not OP at all, its been nerfed so that the DOT damage isn't debilitating anymore. ANY Handcannon with 2-3 well-placed headshots will down you in crucible. If you're having trouble with thorn, maybe you should join the HC master race. Seriously thorn isn't even that good, I have one maxed and I tried it, and I went back to my Venation III HC within 5 minutes.

3 RepliesI have a Thorn and I do not use it, I much prefer my Red Death. I also don't really have any issues when running against others with Thorn. Now add the fact that I am not that good at Crucible and it makes me think that you are just a crybaby. Harden up and get over it.

The problem with Thorn, and possibly other HCs, is the range. The range needs a nerf. Not the damage or DoT. Just the range. Hand cannons are not supposed to be long range weapons. The other day I was doing IB on Twilight Gap. Enemy Titan sitting on Control Point B. I'm coming from Point C and sitting near the Heavy Spawn on that platform. I switch to my LDR 5001 with APR and Final Round. I begin to line up my shot when he fires off his Thorn. Now it's possible hit me multiple times but I only registered one hit which nearly kills me due to DoT. I hide, let my health return, and move back out. He catches me again with Thorn and again I nearly die from seemingly one shot. I again hide to replenish my health. I peek out again and this time he's turned away from me. An easy headshot for the kill. My point in writing that is to illustrate what I feel is the problem with Thorn. I remember thinking when I first saw that Titan that there was no way he could get me unless he was rocking a sniper too. After that first exchange, I remember thinking to myself that no gun, save for a sniper, could do that much damage at that range. Maybe a Scout or Suros in its hey day.

Thorn needs a buff, not a nerf. The rate is too slow, the DoT doesn't tick fast enough and doesn't have enough impact.

i dont use thron but one must know how to use any weapon and master it thorn at rage is harder to aim so i'll bring suros so stop complaining and use work arounds or change tactic

There's no such thing as 2 lucky headshots. If you get 2-pieced (by either Thorn or Hawkmoon or Timur's Lash) you earned it.

Just got the bounty... I just hope WHEN it's nerfed, it doesn't effect PvE... because I swear to god with a hunter the PvP part is damn near impossible. (Buff Epilogue please!!!!)
