The problem with Thorn, and possibly other HCs, is the range. The range needs a nerf. Not the damage or DoT. Just the range.
Hand cannons are not supposed to be long range weapons.
The other day I was doing IB on Twilight Gap. Enemy Titan sitting on Control Point B. I'm coming from Point C and sitting near the Heavy Spawn on that platform. I switch to my LDR 5001 with APR and Final Round. I begin to line up my shot when he fires off his Thorn. Now it's possible hit me multiple times but I only registered one hit which nearly kills me due to DoT. I hide, let my health return, and move back out. He catches me again with Thorn and again I nearly die from seemingly one shot. I again hide to replenish my health. I peek out again and this time he's turned away from me. An easy headshot for the kill.
My point in writing that is to illustrate what I feel is the problem with Thorn. I remember thinking when I first saw that Titan that there was no way he could get me unless he was rocking a sniper too. After that first exchange, I remember thinking to myself that no gun, save for a sniper, could do that much damage at that range. Maybe a Scout or Suros in its hey day.
