I think that Auto Rifles should get a large damage buff, but at close ranges, but the damage falloff at longer ranges should be much greater than it is now (like Shotguns but nowhere as severe, and they should still deal some damage at long ranges). This way Auto Rifles have their purpose, to gun down enemies at close ranges and punish players dumb enough to charge you at those ranges, but, if you're an auto rifle user and think you should be able to take on Scout Rifles and Pulse Rifles at range, your ass should be sorely mistaken.
As far as Hand-cannons go, they should reward a steady hand, but as it is now, the aim assist is too high on most of them, allowing you to out shoot all weapons at any range, except Scout Rifles at the longest ranges (especially considering that hand cannons like Thorn can shoot faster and more accurately than an equivalent scout rifle like the Badger CCL, regardless of respective stability and range. The fact its an "exotic" is inexcusable). There's a problem with that.

Yeah interesting points. I think exotics should be legendary weapons.. But.. Mida Multi Tool should beat Thorn at range. I also think they got shotguns wrong. Invective and Felwinter should swap statistics. Felwinter feels like an exotic to me.
