If somebody tries to mug you or break into your house to steal and you kill them in self defense, it was them who chose to value their life at whatever you have in your pockets or home. Don't let the guilt overwhelm you. It is not your fault. It is theirs. They knew what they were gambling and did so anyways. You were merely a consequence, a reaction to their poor choices.
