I'm almost certain a topic like this has come up at least once before in the history of these forums, the likeness is just too real.
For anyone who doesn't know about the main Pokemon titles, they are pretty catered for hardcore PvP players (Don't laugh, it's true!) the PvE aspects of Pokemon only exists for casual/non-pvp interested players, BUT MOSTLY for PvP players to gather good Pokemon to use in PvP.
Destiny is just Pokemon with guns! Don't get me wrong, this isn't a complaint post, I love it. As a former hardcore pokemon player and as someone who's primary interest in Destiny is PvP, I think it's a great set-up. For a PvP player, our main incentive to do PvE activities is to collect weapons to use in PvP. It's a pretty unique concept for an FPS.
It even applies down to the small details of truly dedicated PvP players spending hours doing the same thing over and over again and praying to RNG for their weapons/Pokemon to roll with just the right stats and moves for the playstyle they intend to use them for.
Guardians are just slightly less violent Pokemon Trainers!!!
Edit: I find it pretty entertaining how many people on this forum can't just let a fun observation/topic be without having to get mad and argue about it xD

Have you done the Battle Maison or similar modes? That's Pokemon endgame PvE. It's impossible to get far without a good team.

Pokemon is better and requires more skill but yeah

Edited by 無い: 5/7/2015 3:06:31 PMWhat?! Eidolon Ally is evolving?! ... ... It evolved into Necrochasm! ... Necrochasm has been released.

I believe I started this analogy way back in week 1 I am glad someone else feels the same way

A wild Crota has appeared. *Throws masterball*
-
Destiny=dc universe online
-
I can add on to this topic just from my name
-
Pokémon > Destiny I can see where you're coming from though. Trying to hatch a flawless shiny team was more grinding than I care to do. I actually maxed out the internal game clock at 999 hours haha. Well worth it, I have around 80 shiny Pokémon. Some were starters but most were just my favorite pokemons, except for those friend safari ones haha.

Ghost is your trainer. He makes you do all the fighting to get where HE wants to go. You learn new moves and are constantly leveling up. Ghost is the trainer and you're the Pokémon.

A wild fang of ir yut appeared It fell on the ground You use pick it up off the ground Congratulations, you caught a fang of ir yut

Polemics story is 100x better than this bs.. Love both games though
-
Spikes=blink shotgun
-
Nintendo caters and balances Pokemon to us tournament players, and I -blam!-in love it. Only reason there's a fairy type now is because we ruined the meta with Dark and Dragon types.
-
Destiny for psp. Take ma moneyz
-
Destiny=Pokemon Destiny 2 for Wii confirmed
-
Well Bungie did hire a shrink to help them develop the game and I have no doubt they looked at other games with long life spans for ideas and Pokemon has the longest life span of most series and does have a knack for attracting folks with obsessive/addictive personalities.

My Pikachu rolled with water damage what do I do?
-
Although I don't see a connection between the two games and can say that they are both awesome and I still play both. And I'm not some little kid either.

Pokemon and destiny have absolutely nothing in common. Pokemon is all about Evolution
-
Destiny= Mario Kart. It's pretty obvious guys

..and the Liberace Award for the gayest thread of the year goes to *drum roll* ...Forgatal for comparing Destiny to the gayest shit on the planet. Congrats, you're mother is probably proud. You should ask her since she's upstairs.

Edited by AgentDuckBah: 5/6/2015 1:58:46 PMThere is so much more work in finding a good team for pvp in Pokemon then compared to destiny. Because you have to breed a poke with the right IV's which can take 5+hours, then you have to EV train it, put the right moves on it and build a team like this which covers eachothers strengths and weaknesses
-
Maybe this would have went over better on the Pokemon forums?
-
The two games have literally nothing in common, you're and imbecile

Pokemon red FTW!
