So while you may not believe in God, and I fully respect your opinion, do not go around telling others he does not exist. Let everyone decide for their own, maybe even you will believe someday.
I don't tell people God doesn't exist. Do I know he doesn't exist? No. Do I know he does? Also no. What I do know is that in order for a belief to be accepted in a logical way, it must meet its burden of proof. Sadly, your personal experiences do not fit the bill. While your Grandpa survived his heart attack, there are thousands of people who don't every year. I don't care what you believe, as long as you accept what we have observed in reality. As long as you take your kids to the hospital when they are sick, as long as you don't just dismiss science because it doesn't correspond with the things your Holy book says, we are cool.

I don't dismiss science, I dismiss those who believe that their theory is better than our creator.

Edited by Jack: 5/6/2015 2:05:10 AMWell in order to determine that, you have to demonstrate your creator exists, Evolution does. Keep in mind evolution only explains what happens after life already exists, it has nothing to do with how life came to be. That's a whole different field.

And this
-
Watch this sir. This should clear it up. Maybe you will understand.
-
Okay now i'm considering you might be a troll. If you get your arguments and viewpoints from movies, i'm not going to consider your points validity. I have seen that movie. It does a terrible job portraying atheism, islam and any religion other than good old christianity. God's not dead, fails to portray even what atheism is, let alone putting it to shame. It's a terrible movie that should not have any influences on your views.
-
It did not. I have been a Christian since the age of one. It was just an example
-
No, no. I'm sorry, but there are no child Christians. There are simply the indoctrinated.
-
I was also a Christian for 15 years, I went to church, to bible camps, talked about God with friends.... Then I read the bible. That's when things went south for my faith. Actually reading the bible.
-
Oh lol, gods not dead was terrible, I watched that back when I was a Christian and still saw the logical fallacies in that movie, it portrayed atheists as God haters rather than disbelievers, it portrayed Muslims as abusive, and it paints Christians as perfect, no anger, no mistakes, just 100% perfection
-
It's like the only movie that made me actually angry
-
LOL, as a Christian when I watched it (not anymore, in part due to this movie) the only reason I could come up with to believe was that being religious granted the small chance of being right, but that is one billion times more unlikely than the lottery.
-
Then explain how life came to be sir. Did it just appear out of the blue?
-
I have no idea how life first came to be. That's why people are looking for the answer. I would rather accept that I don't know and look to find the true answer, than say God did it. That's just my 2 cents.
-
But that is exactly the issue. The answer is right in front of you. It is God, he is the answer. He is the creator of life, forgiver of sins, and the father of men. He created US. He created everything that has caused evolution. He has provided us with the world, with intelligence, and a soul. Everybody searches because they think God does not exist. They think they can find some answer that can curve around the truth, a loophole almost. But there is only one truth, and like I said, that's God.
-
You still can't prove that. What evidence is there for creation? And you're getting all your answers from a book written 2000 years ago by primitive men who knew nothing of the world. Like Logic said, you should really consider the idea of being wrong and wanting to know rather than taking everything from a book.
-
But .... you still can't prove it. You technically can't claim it to be true since you can't prove it. You can claim you believe it to be true but to claim it true would be false. Just because you can't explain something shouldn't lead to a conclusion "because God".
