Should Xûr sell Etheric Light?
Would you buy Etheric light from Xûr or grind for it?
Edit: Remember, Xûr's strange coins are losing purpose cuz we've all gained exotics he sells

No. Let it be a strict and-game style acquisition. So long as it's not random but guaranteed then I'm all for it not being sold but acquired through direct effort.

no. its made to be hard to get so you have a reason to play. if he starts selling it everyone would be maxed out basically overnight then you just end up getting a bunch of forum post about there not being n e reason to play. i like it being rare. it gives me something to work toward. if i want that vog set maxed i gotta work for it not just buy a few lights from xur and have it.

This is a hard question. That one item controls replayability. I don't mind seeing everything else given out fairly easily. But that one item is really what is going to keep people coming back week after week to upgrade. I think we probably should be able to get more than one of them per week. I just don't quite know how they are going to address this.

Only because the fact if someone lags out at the boss round of the Arenas where you can earn Etheric Light, you cannot get them back or a replacement, so all of that time was wasted and you have to start over. (Providing it doesn't happen again.) If Bungie chooses to fix this problem, then no, Xûr should not sell them. If this problem persists, then Xûr should sell them, but at a high stake. In my opinion, 25-35 Strange Coins for 1 Etheric Light sounds good. Maybe even 40 Strange Coins for 1 Etheric Light. Call me idiotic for that amount, but I agree with others on this post that this game should be more of a challenge to hit 34. Then again, I've seen someone at 34 already in the first day.

Hopefully it will drop generously. It would be too easy if we could get it from Xur. Our exotics only need to be upgraded with glimmer and an exotic shard. There's got to be some kind of grind to the legendaries.

If xur sells it, it will ruin the games longevity. Most of us have a lot of strange coins which will make it easy for us to upgrade all our items. I rather grind it and hope I have funny moments in my journey to grinding endgame content.

2 RepliesI think he should sell everything. All materials, shards, energies, Radiant and Ascendant, Motes, Coins, Orbs, Cores, all manner of consumables... The works. He should keep selling exotics like he does right along, but have the added function of being a sort of currency exchange that stops in every week. 90 Ascendant Shards, but no Energies? No problem. For Some Glimmer Xûr will happily change what you have into what you want. Of course, the exchange rates shouldn't be equal; Your 90 shards should only make 60 Energies, and vice-versa. And everything should have the prices hiked, since specific currencies will be easier to obtain, but at least we all wouldn't constantly get screwed by RNG.

Yes he should. He sells exotic shards which are used to upgrade .. You know EXOTICS. So I don't see why he shouldn't sell the material used to upgrade legendary stuff.

Only way I could see this working is if you had a 5% drop chance from an exotic engram purchased from Xür. Outright buying the etheric light would be cheesy...

Yes but maybe only in exchange for the Weapon and Armor Cores that come from PoE so that you at least have to do that in order to get Light easily.
