Why is this a desire? If you want to race go buy a racing game. I for one will be very disappointed if Bungie wastes time on such a feature.

People want it because what the point of sparrow with different speed?

Different speeds??? They had to do something to make a legendary sparrow better then a common one. Simple as that. Even if they did do sparrow racing it would have to be done in an almost Mario Kart style where all sparrows are balanced to an extent.

Yeah but now after the dark below even an uncommon is faster than the raid sparrow

I wasn't aware of that. Did they increase the speeds of lesser sparrows or decrease the speed of the raid sparrow? Regardless though, I don't see how the speed variations in current game modes has any relevance to the concept of sparrow racing. Like I said, for sparrow racing to work a level of balance would have to be put into place to level the playing field.
