I've been seeing a lot of people complain about the "titan bubble exploit". It's when a bunch of Titan-Defenders all stack their Bubbles and the buff's that come with them making them virtually invincible and the constant orb spawning turbo-charges their supers allowing them to do this pretty much all game long. Realistically BUNGIE can't do much to stop players from doing this so Here are some counter-plays to help you out the next time you see this in a crucible match. If I missed anything feel free to add on in the comment section.
1. STEER CLEAR! Since they have to stay near their bubbles to keep the buffs going, keeping out of sight entirely is a sure fire way to not die. If this is happening on control, chances are they're doing this on B-flag so skip it altogether and go for C and A flag. This stops them from gaining points altogether.
2. CHILL BRUH! I've played these kinds of players a few times before and every time the match takes FOREVER! But I've never lost against these guys. Relax and wait for your super. Charging in head first is charging in brains last.
Be patient, they aren't going anywhere (literally) since they have to stay near their bubbles.
3. MMM WATCHA SAY? Team communication is key. Don't be afraid to throw on your mic and switch to the team voice channel. My mom told me not to talk to strangers over the Internet too but I'd think she would make an exception in this case.
4. EAT THIS!! Save all supers STRICTLY for destroying the bubbles and make sure only ONE PERSON AT A TIME uses their super. A single nova bomb or Fist of Havoc can take out 3 ward of dawns if it's aimed right. One super at a time ensures you can destroy their wards as fast as they set them up.
Note: Arc blade is a poor choice to try and counter this strategy because the overlapping defense buffs and multiple combatants collectively punching you in the face will drop you before you do any real damage.
5. DICK PUNCH! Alright, you've waited long enough, they're wards are down and they're like fish in a barrel! GET IN THERE AND KICK THEIR ASSES SO HARD THEY RETURN THEIR GAME AND COMPLAIN ON THE BUNGIE FORUMS!
6. TO THE WINNER.. BRAGGING RIGHTS! You have to go pretty far out of your way to do this, and there's enough in crucible to rage about. So when your enemies lie bloodied and broken before you... COMMENCE T-BAGGING. And maybe send a well worded hate message afterward for good measure.
Note: #6 is optional, but preferred.
Edit: I used the term "exploit" just because that's what most players use to describe it. It's cheap but imo it's not an exploit.
Edit: Going Kamikaze with a rocket launcher is both effective and hilarious. Razors edge with arc-blade also destroys the titan bubble.

I've been a defender Titan pvp'r since day one and never bothered to do this. It may work on randoms but a stand-in-one-spot strategy is never a winning one unless dummies keep feeding you points.

For fun I said lets try this technique. Had 4 bubble titans, a warlock, and one hunter. We just did 3 rounds of this flr fun, we ended up doing better by playing the real way. On the second d match of it a titan on the other team put a bubble down in B(shores of time) so I pull out my snusper while waiting for my super, and the dumb titan peeked his head out of the bubble down it went, GoldenGun killed them got orbs, and started with out bubbles. It was more of a fun , non competitive match then, they literally just sat at the edge of the map and tried to snipe. Id peak out and kill one at a time, ended up having to time out the match

Seems like a valid Tactic to me, play to your teams strengths if that includes lots of bubbles them so be it.
-
-
...... or, you can back out and join a different lobby.
-
You'll grow out of #6 when you get more mature.
-
Suppression grenades and a sniper with final round to handle the hunters. Hopefully you have another titan that can smash the bubbles.
-
Suicide run into the bubble and drop a suppressor grenade.
-
A lot of people don't realise that using razors edge while blade dancing outside of the bubble is extremely effective. I'm not certain, but I believe razors edge negates all defensive buffs. Blade dancing inside the bubble is not so effective.

#4 is the what you need to do. Steering clear doesn't help in some cases because other team members build their gg, arc blade, nova, or fists and come find you. Most ransoms are usually too busy panic fisting or novice bombing that when a situation arises that they need their super they don't have it. It's annoying, but just play smarter and you will collect an easy win.

It might be better to remove orbs from crucible. Let supers become time and kill based only.

Bump for creativity and strategy!

Edited by Gomly1980: 5/7/2015 5:37:23 PMThis is the one time I, as one of the worst PvP'ers in Destiny, get to laugh at people. Even I, the suckiest player you could possibly dread being lumbered with, have managed to wipe nearly a full team doing that (I say nearly, it wasn't. It was half but nearly a full team sounded better). Hid round a corner, waited for my team to stop being idiots and running in (if I get to call someone an idiot in PvP, something is very wrong) and as soon as they ran out of orbs I fisted them good and proper .... without lube. All 3 Titans, dead. Edit for spelling corrections. For some reason my fingers don't want to do what I tell them today.

2 easy ways that can stop this 1. Increase the amount of energy it's needed for a Titan to create a bubble <pvp only> 2. Remove kills as the only way to gain points and make caps generate points. A team with 2 capture points should automatically win a match if they hold both points the majority of the match. This bubble tactic exploits the game mechanics the control game mode heavily relies on and that's getting kills to generate points. The fact that entire fire teams can be pitted up against a team of randoms only increases the public viewing of this tactic as a exploit because a team that can coordinate and talk to one another already has the upper hand on a team of randoms and it's nearly impossible for a team of randoms to win. Capping a point should be much higher than a measly kill in control. A kill should only count to someone defending a point and not towards someone going around treating the game mode as a passive aggressive death match.

1. Titan with hulk smash + the perk that leaves the pulse on the ground should kill everything. 2. There's always a guy using either golden gun or nova bomb so just final round snipe him from afar lol.
-
I was with a team of six we ran into the bubble exploit 3 times in one night, and we beat it all 3 times
-
Its part of a game. Players will figure out how to counter.
-
Keep in mind razors edge goes through bubbles too.
-
Step #1) stop calling it an exploit. It's not an exploit if someone uses the orbs from fist of havoc/nova Bomb/golden gun/arc blade to use their super, so why is it suddenly an exploit for a titan to use orbs from Ward of dawn to use their super?
-
Good info. Now how do you beat a fireteam full of hunters blinking everywhere spamming tlw?

Great post

Great post!

I just got my crest of alpha chest piece from NF. I'm clearly bad at pvp and wouldn't even waste the time looking for 4 other guys and a hunter to do this with. Ok, maybe once lol. It would be funny. If i was up against them i'd just keep my distance. They'd get bored eventually.

Yes thinking up a viable strategy is better that crying for nerfs. Thank you OP
