Logic isn't a thing, its a malleable abstract idea. What sociopathy and similar ASPD's allow for those that have it, is the ability make decisions that benefit them the most. Social humans, instead, are capable of maintaining the overall strength of the heard, because they have the involuntary capacity to recognize and mirror another's emotions and situation and will then take initiative to help them. ASPD is functional for a small selection of roles, such as that of the warrior or the leader. Outside of that, an excess in people that lack empathy in a culture can cause serious damage to that culture. Case in point, modern American business.

While I agree that lacking empathy is a horrible thing, I would argue that corporations are greedy on top of the no empathy part (note how I made a distiction of a "non psycopath way). I may have misinterpreted the OP's original question, but I would have to put greed in the category of an emotion/ feeling. And while I agree that "logical" responses vary from person to person, if the person has absolutely no emotion, aka outside factors, influencing their decision, I could imagine that their response would be the best possible. But I agree, the success of human beings can largely be attributed to the "herd mentality" and people working together for the most part.
