No he shouldnt but he should apply a etheric light to a weapon of your choice for a fair price of 200-250 coins, etherics to go on armor should have to be ground for.
We currently have a situation where most people will have 3 34s with 50 level 32 guns.

Yes it obviously has to be a price where the majority of people choose not to take it but some do, that seems about right. If you want something before others it should be expensive, if the thread title was really should we be given unlimited etheric light for almost no cost so the entirety of destiny players base can have all their guns level 34 in 5 minutes after dlc then change the title.
