It's been proven that old gen consoles are limiting the capabilities of Destiny.
English

and this is connected to cross gen how?...
-
In saying that last gen is holding back Destiny.
-
in what terms? Bigger worlds wouldn't make this game better, a better story would make it better. The issues with destiny overall are not due to hardware, but bad design.
-
When they added more storage, they had to get rid of some features on last gen because they couldn't handle it.
-
Ya I saw that and that just seems like bad game coding, especially when you have other games like borderlands or skyrim with huge inventories with no real issues. If a menu space such as the vault uses up THAT much memory or whatever to display things, then something is obviously not right lol.

Different gens typically have some differences in how coding is processed, so that's where the issue comes up. I mean really, if you look back, how many really good games are there out there that were made for two different gens and done well.
-
Only ones I can think of are minecraft and dragon age inquisition and diablo 3, which all did very well. Wasn't destiny designed for xbox 360 and ps3 first, then ported to the others or was it the othet way?
-
Minecraft and Diablo 3 were originally last gen, then later ported to next gen. I have no idea what there original ideas for which gen Destiny would be made for, but it ended up being for both.
-
The only feature they got rid of was comparing, that wasn't a big deal anyway
-
Yeah, but every time they add new features, they're gonna have to get rid of old ones on last gen consoles. That's the main reason the storage update took so long, because they were deciding which feature would be missed the least.
-
Are you on current or last?
-
-
Shouldn't matter then should it? Ps3 is mostly capable to take on what destiny can be. Everyone makes out destiny was supposed to be this amassing thing with open worlds like skyrim but last gen ruined this idea. But that isn't true.

Edited by naga007: 5/9/2015 8:23:36 PMI was saying that they are limiting it from becoming better.
-
Edited by NutMeg: 5/9/2015 8:26:37 PMHow much greater can it be? They can't improve the graphics and I doubt they'd make a massive world in the future. And if they did include something that didn't agree with ps3 they can just take it out of last gen and keep it for current
-
It would make adding more cutscenes extremely difficult. And cutscenes (albeit as long as they're skippable) would make this game so much better.
-
Well shit when you put it like that, but the thing is you need ps plus to play destiny in ps4, isn't that 50 quid a month?!
-
I play on Xbox, so I wouldn't know.
