No. If they were even able to do that they would have to dumb down the graphics and the speed of the current gen game. No thanks.

Uhmm no they wouldn't, each console would behave as they do now. You would just be able to play with each other, nothing changes.

To play with each other you have to have game versions compatible with each other. Why do you think computer and console games can't be played together?

There have been a few pc and games that played with each other.... Think one was called blink or something like that, bungie even said they had the option to do it but choose not to.
