I like what you've got so far; hope you won't mind a bit of constructive criticism: At the end of paragraph 2 / beginning of paragraph 3, you use the term "male Awoken" a little too frequently. Once you've identified him as male the first time, you might want to refer to him thereafter either as he/him; even better, by a given name.
