There is no earning nor xurning just rng , I tend to be in the top tier of skill in pve and it took me a while to get gally . When xur sold it I chose sunbreakers but in all logical sense my raid team couldn't have beaten the templar if I was a lower level . I have heard many people call of this gally to be overated I disbelieved them and I was wrong. The gun is truly an exotic and when we look at the word exotic it means nothing but different . Gally is something incredibly situational and does deserve a medal or 2 for burst dps but in the vast majority of situations other things win . Let me tell you a story , I was doing templar with a few of my freinds all of which had gally we wiped for 2 hours because they couldn't give constant dps , after the second down people were using primaries . I told everyone to change to ice breaker just so we could have a dps amount that was constant and sure enough - we beat the encounter first attempt . Ice breaker is better in so many ways . I ,as a guardian of 2905 grimoire score will tell you gjallahorn is worthless other than the hype the community gives it, and what else does the community give , cheeses and all sorts of exploits - play the damn game properly . I bet the house of wolves would have a raid if there had never been a cheese found , because bungie now have to go through much more testing. The community is filled with whiners who dont cry until this game is completavble by a 2 year old . The old vanilla destiny is what I truly miss because not everyone was max level , bungie literally had to make the crota hard raid 1 level higher than max becaus of how easy it is. The true guardians who are legend will always have a mark or a story in which they had to work to be in the true endgame . As for me , I will keep a full vannila raid gear set that I first earned as a battle scar to remember how badly things were , but they were better back then , I refuse to ascend my first suros from xur (weeklies were not heard of at this time by the majority of playerw) , my supremacy(hardly anyone was a high enough level to compete in the wrath) and my first zombie apocolypse(earned from my second nightfall , arc burn phogoth gives me memories) because it felt like I truly earned it and they were worth something , my gally is not one of those things .
