Best parry weapon/shield? I've been using murakama (I think is how it's spelled) I've also tried target shield and falchion, but my parry game is still a bit weak. Was wondering if there is a "best" for a learning parryer.

The trick with using a GSword as a parry weapon is that you've got to get them to hit you while you're bringing the sword down, and you only get like 5 frames for that. So in PvP it's gonna be real hard to do that without predicting your opponent real well. Most people'll roll around and try to counter attack, so I suggest doing it about a second after they get out of their roll, you should immediately turn around and start to parry. And if you're lucky you'll land it. Also fun facts, you cannot parry standing 2handed light and heavy attacks from the Mastodon Halberd and all Ultragreatswords Great Hammers and Great Axes. However you can parry their dash attacks and roll attacks.

Gs parry frames start like an inch above the ground. I'm pretty much top tier with super parries by this point.

Thank you for the tips, I've been practicing a bit. Got a few good parries. Also, I knew there were certain weapon/attacks that couldn't be parried, just wasn't entirely sure what they were, thanks for the heads up

Royal kite shield since it also has 100 damage resistance

I'm using the buckler and that is working well for me

Edited by George Foman: 5/14/2015 4:52:00 PMParry everything in forest of fallen Giants. Then move to Bastille and parry royal soldiers and the big guys (honestly don't know their names). Any medium or small shield will do it, but once you get the hang of it I suggest you practice parrying with your murakamo.

Small and medium shields are great for parry practice. Whilst parry shield are good, it's too easy to become reliant on the extra parry frames they provide. Better to learn the technique with something a bit more difficult then opt for a parry shield if you want to rather than the other way around.

Parry shield and parrying dagger are the "best" but really it just comes down to timing and practice with the certain weapon or shield you are parrying. Best to practice on low level enemies.
