Exotic Shards let you upgrade your weapons. You can buy as many as you want. They're only seven Strange Coins. I realize that Glimmer comes with it, as well as gun XP loss, but the Glimmer is easy to get back, and the XP will come with playing through the game normally.

Exotic shards share the same function as Etheric Light will: upgrading weapons to the new damage cap. They aren't expensive and you can get as many as you can afford. Albiet, you need two to fully upgrade a pre-TBD Exotic to 331, but still.

Wait, so you can use etheric light [i]or[/i] exotic shards to upgrade an exotic to 365? Will it still be the same ol xur way? Take away its experience if you use shards I mean. And by two for pre dark belows do you mean using a shard on a 300 exotic only takes it to 331 and then you can upgrade it to 365? Cause that would be lame. An unfortunate alternative to just using the few etherics one might have

All I'm saying is there is no reason for it. People love to play because of the grind of trying to reach another level. Ok so after the first week people will have 3 34 characters then what they have to wait 4 months till the next dlc. Take the time and grind out to get your level up. Already as it is you can reach 34 on day one with one character so having xur sell etheric light will only make it worse..

I said buy one a week. Not 50. That means one extra piece of equipment, for that week, can be upgraded. That will disrupt no ones grind, and they can still try to upgrade everything so they don't have one set that gets them to 34

Read the article on reach 34 on day one. This is without xur selling etheric light. You can can a pc of 42 light armor once a week from prison of elders with a core and also upgrade exotic pc with shard. So basically all you need is too upgrade two pcs after that. Add xur in there and basically all characters can be 34 in one week. It's not smart because there will be no grind. Your opinion is your opinion no worries. I grinded for 3 32's and it was grueling and satisfying when I finished. If I didn't have that grind I would just quit the game no reason to play.

Hail is free, and comes by in severe storms... Sooo... Make etheric light destructive and free? Makes sense.
