Something that I have been trying out in PvP is the longsword. It has ok damage but not much poise damage, but has very good tracking; you can usually punish someone who is an avid roller, as you can catch them mid roll with the speed and tracking. Now, I never liked R1 spamming, but that's pretty much what this weapon is: Bringing a flurry of attacks without showing a window for them to react to. This seemingly impractical weapon has been very effective with the time I've been using it, and I would recommend it if you have a fast and aggressive play style.

Ok I have been using the ninja type weapons a lot recently. I have been cosplaying as sir alonne. With lots of recent Pvp Ok, so the uchi is long, but if I'm going to swing something that thin I want some more damage, and 20 durability is kind of bad. I just use the black steel katana of them all for Pvp , trust me it's better. You reduce the range a little for double durability (40 is more than enough for Pvp fight or 2 no matter how long it goes) and it swings faster (it's lightweight idk what person below saying) May I recommend the murakumo. Now that's a heavier weapon.. But here is what is good about it. Did you ever want a big swinger like a great sword? But you hate the slow start and end lag? May I present murakumo. Faster swing but maxed is a little less than great sword damage. If you do a run swing, the next swing is INSTANT , as fast as a dagger. Try it. Berserker blade is supposed to be the same as sir alonnes katana... Personally the moveset pretty damn basic. Only one attack is really viable but it's not the best with rollers. I really wanted to use that katana but it is not Pvp viable trust.
I'm a katana freshie but I watched this really good katana user and now I win a little over half battles. What he taught me Was to be unpredictable, running past enemies and striking works due to being able to have wide swing ect, good luck out there
Edited by Ducky7049: 5/19/2015 9:46:22 AMThanks man. I plan on getting the blacksteel katana soon but I'm not very far into the game. I'm hoping to get 2 so I can dual wield. The murakumo sounds pretty sick, I will have to look into that

Katana s seem to be meant to be two handed in the game. One blade for two hands. I haven't tried power standing two so idk the moves but that vid taught me it's more about once in while critical strikes. The fight won't be fast, and you shouldn't mash buttons with it. It's more... Strategic and surgical. But yhea muru is just a little faster great sword but it's called a curved sword. It's a giant curved sword

It does damage, but it isn't very durable.

As if durability matters that much after the recent patch.
-
Ok then. If I use it much, it will probably be only until I get some blacksteel katanas
-
Blacksteel katanas are heavy
-
Are they?
-
Yes. And not very durable either. None of the katanas are durable.
