The PROPER Chest Etiquette
EDIT: after all the cyber bullying of me in this thread, I have decided to kill myself. Thank you for your time. I blame my upbringing. I was taught to always do the right thing, even if it meant being persecuted, but I now see the error of my ways. rip.
I understand that the community as a whole has been abusing game mechanics to get ahead. I have been doing my part to prevent this, and I hope you will all do the right thing and join me on my quest to end this sickening abuse.
Here is how you can help in ending this problem:
DON'T GLITCH YOURSELF! There is no point to glitching as you can only get one key per chest. Also, how can you live with yourself knowing you cheated to get ahead in this game? Cheating doesn't get you ahead in real life.

Edit: since so many people seem to have missed the point: if you kill yourself on the chest, people can't open it. The option to revive you overrides it. You can use this to prevent filthy cheaters from cheating.
Edit: steel jets can't melt fuel beams.

Obviously, Deej read this post and agreed with OP and relayed this information to the developers and shot callers. They realized how atrocious the community's actions were and they knew they had to act fast. Congrats on the victory, Kappa. Chalk one up for the home team. 1 ReplyI got 2 keys on the same chest. One from my 2nd opening, the other from my 3rd. The 4th opening gave me a legendary engram. Gotta love the fence chest at skywatch. RNGesus smiled upon me on that run.

He has much to look forward to, women, sex, facial hair, and drinking. He studied so very hard for the chemistry final exam. A lot is riding on how he does. Will he become a doctor? Or a janitor? He studies for a week and takes the exam. Little Johnny fails, so he became a plumber. Now take Michael. He doesn't study, he parties, he had sex several times, Last night! His facial hair is coming in. He has to take the same exam as little Johnny, but he has the answer key. He takes the rest, get an A and goes on to be president of the US. Cheating does get you far. Take all of politicians.

I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.

5 RepliesI cheated on my post secondary exams years ago and got top shelf score which ended up landing me a amazing job, where I met my wife who was also very successful and we had kids and now own more then one house. So actully your logic if flawed you giant dough, you have nothing better to do in your meaningless life then then cyber police a video game. Rethink everything you do clown.

Farming ether keys is one of the few ways we can't stick it in bungie/activision's face that we don't want to grind like we used to have to. Minimizing effort and maximizing reward is my philosophy on this. We don't get checkpoints for prison of elders, we have mandatory cutscenes, and have fly to the tower/reef every 5 seconds all so they can brag to their investors about how much time people spend playing destiny... If they are going to exploit the players for their future investments, then I feel I have the right to exploit their game, for my in-game future investments. [spoiler]i doubt you've ever grinded for relic iron before you could purchase it. If you have, then I hope you know where I'm coming from.[/spoiler] Edit: Ok, either way comment still applies to those select few anti-farmers out there lol

By blocking players from getting to the chest, you are effectively ruining their gameplay experience. Which IS a violation. Now obviously you aren't going to get banned, it's the same as when the loot cave was around and people were standing inside keeping the hive from spawning. It's not a big enough offense to warrant any kind of ban (though it should be for how much of an imbecile you are), but don't get on here preaching your nonsense about players cheating like you're some kind of righteous saint. Your actions ruin others' experience plain and simple, therefor violating the code of conduct all the while the players that are getting the chest multiple times are doing nothing wrong and simply using mechanics that are present in the game. Nobody is modding or hacking. Besides this doesn't even effect you, but I suppose you're the just the type that likes to complain. Hypocrite. And no don't ask me to link the source, go find it yourself, lazy.
