Like many of you, I spent countless hours this weekend grinding the "wolves" events in search of treasure keys. It was fun for about the first hour or two... but after that it was irritating beyond belief.
I found 2 keys and 2 legendary engrams.... and a shit ton of blue engrams.
I can't believe they actually thought this would be a good idea or fun for us players. HoW isn't even out yet and I'm already feeling completely let down. The mindless idiocy of running back and forth between 2 spots on a map... fighting the same fight over and over and opening chest after disappointing chest.... is this a sign of what the rest of the DLC is going to be like?
I'm sure many of you will disagree with me and that's likely because these forums are filled with a lot of people who will be fans of the game no matter how much it goes to shit.
Anyway... If I'm doing a patrol bounty and stumble across a wolf event, I'll stop and do it... but beyond that... I'm DONE with that tedious grind!

I'm sorry but this is just your fault for doing that. It won't take me much longer than it will you to get to level 34.
-
It's your own damn fault. Why the hell did you spend so much time grinding if you weren't enjoying it? Video games are about having fun.
-
I can't get any keys. Seen a lot drop for others though. I can wait for PoE.
-
Someone has no friends to play with. Of course it's tedious and boring by yourself. Grab 5 friends (if you got them) Start a normal VOG and spread into 2 groups. 1 at ember coves, 1 at citadel. This is a lot more fun than playing alone and complaining to the forums.

Edited by uptownsmoothest: 5/19/2015 3:54:49 PMGrinding (that way) isn't fun for me neither but I'll still try it out just to try it out. I tagged alone with some buddies twice for a few hours so it made it a little bit easier and time go by quicker but I only got 1 key and 1 legendary lol. But I'm not hating on it at all, more power to the ones that enjoy it. I'm a PVP guy more so, so last nights Scalvage drops were more fun to me. Even at times when I was losing lol.

When I use my 17 keys and 20 legendary engrams it'll all be worth it
-
12 keys and 18 legendary engrams
-
Can we still farm them today before HoW drops? Cause I just want engrams
-
2keys here. Opened about ten chests.
-
15 keys 10 legendary fri-mon brah
-
Edited by pookidook: 5/19/2015 2:56:01 PMI don't think they intended for us to farm them or be able to hit 3-5 chest per event. The keys were probably supposed to be special. Like a handful of people would get 1 or 2 before HoW special. Not every player has 20 keys day one. You can't really get mad because you can't exploit as hard as you want.

Grinding CANT be fun
-
Bungie did not tell you to do boring stuff for hours. If you get bored with repetitive stuff, take a break. Play Crucible, Play another game. Etc.
-
Games are supposed to be fun, if you didn't enjoy it why did you keep doing it. Personally I only did it as long as I had bounties to do. Got close to 40 chests, no keys and 3 purples. Stopped as soon as I finished the bounties I wanted. Not going to burn myself out and grind.
-
What was it you were expecting to happen after 'countless hours' not sarcasm genuinely interested. The event was cool and a fun precursor/intro to the dlc but not sure why you'd grind it all weekend?
-
I got 1 key, no legendaries, and a shitload of blues. I honestly dont care though, i will be playing PoE, BUT, not as much as ToO. I prefer crucible over pve activites
-
Well, seems like you're the minority. Get over it or leave
-
I haven't got bored at all but that's my opinion
-
Yeah we should definitely judge an expansion before it's even released
-
Four keys 8 legendary engrams probably five hours of grinding
-
0 legendaries and 0 keys. Idk how many runs.....lots?
-
Its a little convoluted and very random. Random chest spawn, random chest loot, random treasure loot,
-
14 keys, 9 legendary. Git Gud. Lol
-
5+ legendarys 3 keys
-
6 keys 17 legendaries About 4-5 hours since the events started :)
Anyway... If I'm doing a patrol bounty and stumble across a wolf event, I'll stop and do it... but beyond that... I'm DONE with that tedious grind!
That ' s how it should work. Farming is ok only in these days pre-DLC also for Bungie to test the loot.
