DONE with this "treasure key" BS!
Like many of you, I spent countless hours this weekend grinding the "wolves" events in search of treasure keys. It was fun for about the first hour or two... but after that it was irritating beyond belief.
I found 2 keys and 2 legendary engrams.... and a shit ton of blue engrams.
I can't believe they actually thought this would be a good idea or fun for us players. HoW isn't even out yet and I'm already feeling completely let down. The mindless idiocy of running back and forth between 2 spots on a map... fighting the same fight over and over and opening chest after disappointing chest.... is this a sign of what the rest of the DLC is going to be like?
I'm sure many of you will disagree with me and that's likely because these forums are filled with a lot of people who will be fans of the game no matter how much it goes to shit.
Anyway... If I'm doing a patrol bounty and stumble across a wolf event, I'll stop and do it... but beyond that... I'm DONE with that tedious grind!

You do realize you decided to farm them bungie did not encourage you to do this at all. I thought it was fun otherwise I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't fun.

They didn't bargain on a load of losers farming the same thing for hours on end, I just did each one once to get the bounties and had some fun.

First of all, it was never bungie's intention for people to grind the chests like they did for the keys. Second of all did it EVER occur to you to stop for a moment and think about the keys? As in DO YOU REALLY FREAKING need them that bad that you are willing to do some tedious shit for hours straight? No you didn't you just jumped on the band-wagon and you're now blaming bungie? WTF. Let me explain it for you, Those keys only give you a chance for exotics + class items + random legendary how weapons. You already get a key for each lvl 32-34-35POE clear, that is 3 keys a week for each character. So that's 9 total keys each week for 9 clears for all three characters. So, how many -blam!-ing clears are you planning on doing a week? isnt 9 more than enough? 9 chances for damn exotics and gear you probably dont even need or want!? and that's not enough? 1 or 2 extra keys a week, would be more than enough for 99% of the playerbase. Hell even 9 total clears will be pushing it for most. But that's the beauty you dont need more than that. still people grinded for 30hours and shit for keys..why? God knows man, sheep.

Agree, it's just a plot to get people back into destiny and get the forums buzzing, so they buy the dlc. My roster used to have 3 or 4 pages of players everyday, then it went down to 1 and half. Now it's back up to 4 or 5. So it's worked.

10 RepliesWhile I appreciate your right to an opinion, I think you're well off base about only fanboys claiming this to be fun. I've ground quite a bit of this, though not nearly to the extremes that others have. I have 136 rare, 3 legendary and 5 keys. I'll be back to it after work. The camaraderie with complete strangers is real and the world has never felt so inhabited. Last night I spent 2 hours at skywatch with two complete strangers. Not a word was spoken but we slaughtered fallen in droves, stood shoulder to shoulder as the enemy moved against each other in force, defended warsats, pointed to the chest when we found it, sat in quiet contemplation on a roof waiting for wolves and had a spontaneous dance party. Our time together was cut short by the update kicking us (midway through a how event, frustratingly) but I have never had as much fun in the wastelands of patrol. This has done more to hype me up than any of the reveals

I'm loving it. Teaming up with randoms again like the good old days. Stacking the wolf hunt with bounties like 100 precision kills etc. I'm going right back into it tonight.

(I played for two days and two hours each a day; got one key and a lot of blue engrams) As you say.. for the first three encounters, this was a blast and fun. Then this frantic activity to find the damn chest in time. And after that repeat it and drive the sparrow to the next map and back again, and again to get the f…ing max out of the bad RNG-Chest to get those keys. Of course… it was funny for 1-2 hours then for the next three bounties it was going to be repetitive-boring again. Omg… so damn boring, and if you have to do this for the next day, phuuuuu… no way. Im not a player who wants all in the first hour and more and more… a want challanges and not a boring gameplay again! Of course, you get guaranteed a key if you master the PoE to the end at the chestroom once a week. But every one wants more, and you are going to be forced into the shitty grinding playstyle again. Maybe im wrong, but this patrol key-hunting-shit is boring as hell…… already!

I think it's great n it's a get away from usually raids n crucible. I enjoy racing my sparrow with a count down timer to chest. After awhile it all goes back to normal ...

You grinded for hours, what did you expect? If all you had to do was grind for a few hours to get 20 keys, the end game would be ruined immediately.

Well you're not alone, I farmed for quite some time for keys, and got zero, and 1 purple. I am not going to complain as it's the nature of RNG, there is little point raging about something you have utterly no control over. I had fun doing it, patrol was pretty lively for once, and Skyshock when the enemies move against one another is nuts. There was little point me farming so much as the keys are more relevant for the higher level PoE, which I don't have a team for( I knew it was the case with the keys before I started farming ) but it would've been nice to have 1-2 in case I got an invite to one.

Why rush with destiny i learned not to rush so i just take it easy grinded fore a few hours Got 2 keys the rest Will come.
