DONE with this "treasure key" BS!
Like many of you, I spent countless hours this weekend grinding the "wolves" events in search of treasure keys. It was fun for about the first hour or two... but after that it was irritating beyond belief.
I found 2 keys and 2 legendary engrams.... and a shit ton of blue engrams.
I can't believe they actually thought this would be a good idea or fun for us players. HoW isn't even out yet and I'm already feeling completely let down. The mindless idiocy of running back and forth between 2 spots on a map... fighting the same fight over and over and opening chest after disappointing chest.... is this a sign of what the rest of the DLC is going to be like?
I'm sure many of you will disagree with me and that's likely because these forums are filled with a lot of people who will be fans of the game no matter how much it goes to shit.
Anyway... If I'm doing a patrol bounty and stumble across a wolf event, I'll stop and do it... but beyond that... I'm DONE with that tedious grind!

1 ReplyHere's the deal. With this expansion there is going to be so much content you might drown in if you try to complete everything each week. And that is for the [i]hard core player[/i]. A casual player will feel overwhelmed. Let's review. 1.the daily 2.nightfall 3.weekly 4.crucible bounties 5.daily bounties 6.vog 7.crota 8.too 9.poe 10.iron banner 11.queens bounties 12. Reef bounties And a lot of other stuff I'm sure I missed. So please....STFU. Did I miss anything?

Well I got 5 keys. When the servers went down, I lost 4 but shit happens when you party naked man.

4 RepliesDude don't stress it: Worst case scenario: people get all the guns a month before you Best case: these keys can only be used on lvl 28 PoE since Deej said lvl 32,34, and 35 are only once per week per character. Also, you will prob be able to get keys running lvl 28 PoE, which will be more efficient for people who have bad RNG.

Your one of those people I think need to look at the game in a different way. If you know your gonna get burned out or frustrated why do you play so long? Instead of farming for so long you should have done it for may 1 hour then you wouldnt be bored And I'm in no way a diehard blinded destiny fan (I do love the game but not to the point that I ignore its fault's) Trust me, those keys will get you some gear. Then you'll be back in June complaining how short HoW was or youll be glad that you grinded so long to get a [b][i][u]Head start[/u][/i][/b] , which is what this queens event was about. For you to get a head start on the new pve content I'd say suck it and have fun 🌝

2 RepliesFunny enough, I came back after a month off (burned out after a thousand hours) and I thought that for the 8 or so hours I farmed, that it was refreshing to have a challenge in patrol... By challenge I'm referring to challenging yourself to see how many times you could grab the chest in 1:30...my best was 3 (missed 4 a couple of times by a second or two...). This unintended game mechanic provided me with a casual enough way to come back to the game without the burnout factor and something a little different than the typical grind that Destiny had become...here's hoping we don't need to wait 6 months before Comet drops. I have a feeling the HOW content isn't quite going to be enough to hold me over until then...

Everyone is in competition with each other to get something first for I dunno bragging rights? I grinded these for a couple hours using 3 characters to get the xp bonus for leveling up weapons I have a ton of blue engrams no legendary and no keys. I was waiting for another wolf event to start and it reminded me of the old grinding days of public events waiting. And then I was like screw this. I now do what you do. If I happen to stumble across one I'll do it if not no big deal. I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be disappointed because Bungie is not going to allow you to get exotic after exotic after exotic because you cheated to farm chests. They will have a use but it's not what most think.

The only reason we're all burning ourselves out on these events is that there's literally nothing else to do. Wolf events + running PoE an ungodly amount of times per week won't feel as rigid. Again though the fact that the game just flat out lacks enough content shines through. They just don't develop fast enough.
