So it's near the end of the year and my teacher has run out of bullshit to shove down my throat so he's showing land before time (the original)
I forgot how damn dark this movie is!
I mean, for a kids movie, this has a lot of scary images and depressing scenes/scenery.
The overall feel is scary
the story deals with orphans, starvation, and the apocalypse!
To put this in perspective. This would be like making a movie about a bunch of Tweens orphaned by nuclear war pursued by a serial killer canibal in a post-ww3 nuclear wasteland
Also, racism
Anyway, discuss.
Edit: the music in this movie is quite good

You must remember, this was for kids who grew up before "trigger warnings", when bullying and broken bones were just a part of growing up and children were largely autonomous (no cell phones to check up on them). You think this is dark, try watching the episode of [i]Sesame Street[/i] where Big Bird has to learn to come to terms with the death of Mr. Hooper.
