Figured this would help a lot of people out as there is a lot of confusion. Seems there is only one key needed per challenge mode and the other chests are unlocked. Key Chests can also be opened multiple times per week.
This is great news for key farmers and I'm actually happy with this set up its far better than what I was expecting so it's nice to see bungie did realize if the added another grind element like the commendations it would be received very poorly.
Though I am curious what bungie is thinking. I don't understand why bungie worked so hard to conceal the loot system till now though it is a trend they have started. Ignore the vitriol and do no damage control on rumors hoping the last minute release will cause enough good will relief to stop the hate, but I don't think this is a good strategy. Since the prepatch I've been fuming thinking we needed a ton of keys and we would be locked out of rewards without them. Thankfully I was wrong but now Im carrying that with me and it slightly hurts my opinion of it.
I don't know if the stream intentionally left out rewards or they really did suck at playing that much (only that last room looked actually challenging).
Basically my point is bungie you would have been much better off not concealing the rewards system. I want to be excited and announcing this earlier would have done that. Relief it's not as bad as many thought, is not excitement.
I know many of you say don't assume, but bungie kinda forced us to by adding how content with no explanation and blocking info about it. It was fun and I really appreciate it, but uninformed and "what could this be" hype is not the way to go for your marketing strategy. No one trusts it coming from bungie now

Bungie dis-allowed anyone with early access from showing the treasure room.
