I had a segment about this on my thread "Terrible Exotics" but the thread is dying and the Necro review itself got little attention.
So, I'll reiterate it here for the community to swallow in one bite, rather than the brick wall of reviews and suggestions in my old thread. I'll leave out the exposition and rationale because it seems the people just want a buff, period, so I'll cut to the chase.
1) Replace Single Point Sling with Field Scout. That's a hard choice between it and Fitted Stock, but both are useful, where Fitted Stock is the literal only option currently.
2) Improve inherent reload speed slightly.
3) Cursebringer needs to work very differently than being Firefly but only sometimes. My proposed change is as follows:
Each hit with the weapon would apply a stack of a "curse" status effect. Stacks decay after half a second. At 10 stacks, the target becomes poisoned much like Mark of the Devourer. Poisoned targets trigger thrall explosions on death. Now there is no RNG on the explosions, and overall DPS gets buffed without being overbearing in the crucible.
4) Raise its Attack up to around 360-365. The Mythoclast's +23 to 300 was an ~8% boost. The Necro's current +8 to 331 is a ~2% boost. A 10% boost isn't unreasonable, especially given the weapon's middling performance despite what a spreadsheet would suggest.
It's obvious this weapon does not feel exotic to its owners, when it should feel more exotic than any other. This is a weapon we were supposed to have found and nurtured until it grew into something marvelously rare and exclusive, from slaying countless Hive, to bounty grinding, to finally overcoming the most challenging trial in the current game state... multiple times.
It's time it started acting like it.
EDIT: Possibly in addition to the buffs described, an almost purely PvE-oriented buff I considered was a tertiary upgrade unlocked in tandem with the second Attack boost, where the Disruptor upgrades feature on raid legendaries.
Crota's Bane: The Hive see your might, and tremble.
Combines the effects of the Raid primaries into one fun-filled package. Itemized:
-Increased damage to Hive Majors.
-Projectiles have a chance to disorient Hive Wizards.
-Enemies hit by this weapon are briefly highlighted.
-Projectiles will overpenetrate through Hive Knight Wall of Darkness.
-Rapidly landing three precision hits returns one round to the magazine.

I like the idea of Crota's Bane. Bump, please.
