Its really late so I might answer back later but for now I will say this. Those handcannons are most likely based off Chiappa Rhinos.

Aesthetically, yes. Functionally... probably. Though the actual mechanics of it (in-game) don't add up, which is the problem.

Did you even read about the chiappa hammer mechanism? The upper external hammer is linked to a lower internal hammer in line with the bottom cylinder

The upper external rotates the cylinder and cocks the weapon. Which is contradictory to what is presented in-game.
