One thing I've noticed about the speed load cylinders (which are present on just about every HC in destiny) don't have individual bullets, and the receiver is hollowed out. No, it doesn't justify much, but it [i]could[/i] explain why the hammer can be aligned with the cylinder and not the barrel.
