You have no idea if this is his first tour or fifth... "I'm on my way to start serving my country in 13 days" could have meant he's going to boot or he's about to have boots on ground in 13 days. Seriously, Memorial Day JUST happened and you're gonna disrespect a service member not knowing what he has or hasn't done for this country... for your right to act ignorant and have the freedom of speech you do? Why should I have respect for someone who's acting like an asshole? I'm GOING to be fighting fires. I'm GOING to be helping and protecting people throughout the bushfire season. I'm GOING to be responding to emergencies across the area. Do I demand respect for it? No. Because I haven't done it.
