I personally don't like it because it has split damage between physical and fire, and scales equally off strength and faith, requiring a decent investment in 2 stats to get the scaling another weapon would with a single stat with an A scaling.
That said, if you're a strength/faith build and can afford the 20 DEX required, it's a great weapon.

Yeah, that's the thing I hate. I was going to go strength/faith but I like crystal soul spears too much. I had to waste points in faith to use the sword. I tried upgrading the Drakeblood Greatsword because the damage looked similar. I still get about 100 more damage from BKGS.
