D-Pad Hotkeys
So an idea I had was what if use the directional pad instead of dancing and waving we can set things to them like heavy ammo synths, special ammo synths, glimmer boosters, ect. Limit dancing and waving and all in public patrols and in social spaces but for things like raid, PoE, and strikes let us use them as hotkeys
Edit... Ok so rather than limiting social gestures like dancing there could be a toggle in the settings if you want to use the d-pad for social gestures or as Hotkeys to your consumables.
Edit 2... Another good idea that has been brought up is use L2 or the black trigger (based on your controls) as a scroll wheel that we can select certain items that we hot key to that wheel and use an analog stick to scroll through the wheel.

What if you used the D-pad, but you would have to pull out your Ghost first. So pressing select then which ever direction you set the hotkey to on the D-pad?

Dancing and whatnot in Tower and Reef, loadouts, synthesis and Glimmer boosters during missions.

While pressing R3: Up: Primary synth Left: Secondary synth Right: Heavy synth Down: Mini map Wouldn`t that be great? PD: Took this from another forum, got the acceptance from the creator of the post. PD2: Bungie PLEASE take a look at this! When I open my inventory on PS3 it takes too long to load and it`s so hard to switch weapons (I`m on a 50mb internet connection). It would be faster if we at least switch weapons with the d-pad.

3 RepliesEdited by BootyScoop: 5/28/2015 6:13:44 PMAs far as I know, the left analog does nothing when pushed in (correct me if I'm wrong). Leave the D-Pad alone and utilize the left analog maybe? Click and hold will bring a small menu (move left for primary, up for secondary, right for heavy) then select with X.... or something along those lines. Edit: nvm, I'm a dummy, just realized left analog is sprint haha Ah well, hopefully this sparks a similar idea. I'm thinking something along the lines of how you used to select weapons in red dead redemption.

This really needs to happen. I'm sick of GREAT freakin ideas that would work with the game perfect, being wasted. I've said this same idea a bunch of times, and sadly it seems like no one cares. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN!!

It would be similar to how assassin's creed has it. up button for ammo sythns, left button for primary weapons, bottom button for special weapons, right for heavy weapons. And I would take it one step further where if you have ghorn in you exotic slot but then select ice breaker, the ghorn would be replaced by the second weapon in your heavy section. And you can keep the socila actions, but you need to press L2 and the d-pad to trigger the, (similar to Little big planet, where you need to hit r1+l1 and the analog sticks to move the arms)
