I'd say the Virtual Console is already doing a well enough job keeping those old games alive. They are pretty much perfect ports that play exactly like they do on their original consoles. And best of all, Nintendo acually gets the recognition and profits from them unlike illegal third party emulators. Only part that sucks is that it's mostly just Nintendo published, first party games with very little from other companies. I miss using the original controllers sometimes, but taking it any further than that would only be for nostalgia sake.
