Many of the reloads dont make sense either, for example when you go to reload most guns, it still cocks the weapon, even if there would technically still be a bullet in the chamber (this only actually annoys me because it takes more time to reload when it shouldnt). But in the end it is a game and so nothing really makes a lot of sense it, so you just have to accept it for its bad science and mechanics, and sometimes logic.
