I am an avid Christian; AMA
I've considered posting this for a while now. I am now because... well why not? I'm bored and wanna see what you can come up with.
Let me first start off by saying that I'm not gonna waste any time replying to foolish, immature, or spam. If the fact that I am a Christian upsets you to the point where you have some hurtful words to say, please do it in a private message. Otherwise, I will look at it as a selfish way of trying to garnish attention to yourself.
I have been raised in a Christian household my entire life. Now when I say that, I don't mean I was in church every Sunday or prayed before every meal or before I went to sleep at night. I was saved in my early teens along with some of my closest friends that I attended church with. I then drifted away from my faith as high school and college rolled around. Over the past year or so, I've rediscovered my faith and redefined myself as a man. I've been to church, reading my bible, participating in bible studies, youth groups and events, as well serving at my church running the sound board and helping out wherever I can.
I'm comfortable enough with my faith to be asked questions, to be persecuted, and to be doubted and called foolish. Then again, it doesn't seem to matter what you believe in, we all face these things.
I don't have all the answers but I'm curious to see what you've got for me and I'll do my best to answer whatever it is you can conjure up for me.

No I do, I'm being completely honest here. You were forced to learn bullshit, learn stuff that doesn't even have a logical standpoint and yet you still care enough to believe in it. I feel bad for you dude. But at least you don't go shoving the bible down people's throats like GreasyTech does. I'll give you that.

27 RepliesI'll just leave this here. I like to compare the bible to people who claim to be psychics. They be as vague as possible and contradict themselves just to make people believe whatever they want to believe. The reason there are so many sects to Christianity is because of this. People just want to read it however they want and get whatever messages they want. If it were true, there would be one message and it would be clear that it was correct. The funniest thing about Christianity are the people who think praying works. They pray and pray for random things, and when their prayers aren't answered, it's God works in mysterious ways. When their prayers are answered, it's a damn miracle and he loves me!!! It's bound to happen when you pray for stupid shit every day that happens to everyone on a daily base. And the funniest thing is you think God created this massive ass universe, with all these galaxies and stars and planets and everything in between. Then he proceeded to create earth and every bit of life on it for billions of year. Then he creates humans, billions of them over tens of thousands of years. And you think he gives a damn about whether your football team wins a game, or if you have some money to buy food, or you finding a job. He created everything beyond your comprehension and he gives two shits about you individually? This is assuming you don't believe that we have only been around for 6000 years and we appeared out of thin air. Which is probably a bad assumption, but if you are really that stupid then this whole paragraph was a waste of time anyway because you will dismiss it without really thinking about how ludicrous it sounds.

2 RepliesHave you ever critically looked at the bible and Christianity? I.e looked at it whilst honestly accepting the possibility that it could be wrong. I admit bias, I have never read the bible whilst being open to the 'possibility' that it could be true... Yet since my starting belief is that it was mainly written by poor and hard working people with squalid conditions and a low life expectancy, it makes perfect sense for what it is. Honest question though.

2 RepliesMy parents are Christian. I was baptized, had my first communion, used to go to church every Sunday. But as I have grown up, and have developed more of a personality that is of my own, there are just some things that I cant agree with. Not just with Christianity, but religion as a whole. I dunno what I'm trying to get into, but either way, thanks for putting this topic out there and not being a dick about it. I've seen many "bible thumpers" in my day, and they, more than anything, turn me off of religion.
