  • No, actually. That is a topic that is touchy. Depends on the way you look at it. Even Christians will argue with one another on particular beliefs on the topic. Personally, I think it can not only be a choice, but for many people it is simply the way they are. They can't control it nor can they force themselves to be "straight". To be Christian means to be like Christ. And God loves everyone, so we should do the same.

  • Good. I used to be chrisitian, and I've met plenty of christians who are good people, and plenty who are dicks. I just hate it when people pick and choose different parts of the bible that suit them. Like yeah, it says that being gay is an abomination in Leviticus, but are you just gonna ignore the cutting hair, eating pork/crustaceans, mixed fabrics, mixed crops, and all the other shit in there?

  • Do you believe they go to hell since it blatantly and explicitly says that in the bible?

  • Honestly, that is a question that I cannot answer. I like to believe that gays will be challenged somehow once they reach their judgement. Maybe their eyes will be opened and they will be instantly changed or something like that.

  • Have you ever lied? The bible explicitly states that hell has a special place for liars. It also states that any sin (except for blaspheming God on judgement day) is forgivable.

  • I'm not religious so asking me these questions is literally redundant.

  • Have you ever tried being religious?

  • Of course not.

  • Okay, so why do you dismiss the idea entirely the way you do?

  • Because omnipotence is logically impossible. Because there is no evidence for god or heaven. Because people use religion as a means of political control. Because even if I did believe in god, I wouldn't worship someone who demands me to Because there are other explanations and theories about the origin of the universe Because I am completely fine with the idea that I'll die and never live again Because it's obvious religion is just another myth our ancestors believed in because they didn't have any other way of finding answers

  • Many things simply are logical. There are actually many things that are completely unfathomable. The size of the universe for example? Or multiple universes? The Bible is evidence enough for me. Religion is by no means used as a way of political control in my opinion, unless its the Vatican or another country and religion. No one demands you to worship God. God wants you to follow him, he doesn't "demand" you, although he has given us "commands". Yes, there are other explanations. So you simply choose whichever one suits you best. To die and then cease to exist? Another unfathomable thought I suppose. A myth? Anything can be considered a myth. I think people refuse the Bible as the answer and go about their time trying to come up with other answers that never fully answer anything anyways.

  • Nah, he doesn't demand us to, just makes us burn in hell for eternity for it if we don't. No different than a dictator torturing people for not liking his rule.

  • But this "dictator" doesn't punish you during your earthly life for choosing to not believe in his word. He tries to save you from that eternal punishment. Some people can't seem to wrap their minds around that though.
