If you could justifie the concept of hell to me.
It's always been my biggest issue with religion.
How does a all loving god punish people for ever. When we barely have control of our upbringing and stuff anyways.

Edited by Sloob, Grinder of Balls: 5/31/2015 3:27:36 AMHell is just an absence of God. Kind of like this world now. It's not some fiery place you go and get burned to death and what not. It's just an absence of God.

Very true. The idea of eternal hellfire was not part of the original canon, nor was Satan.

Edited by illqo : 5/30/2015 8:04:17 PMDepending on your sect the opinion differs, for me the concept of hell is more about the individual than their actions, they are not with God because they continue to chose to not be, god is not punishing they are punishing themselves. Hell is not some fire and brimstone but being apart from God. Sorry if I cannot get the concept over very well... Actually there's this odd story I heard that may help. A man died and asked to see both hell and heaven, he was first taken to see hell. There were many people and great plates of food but everyone was starving for all the had to eat were very long utensils and they could not get the food to their lips. The man was then brought to heaven and it looked the same, the same food, similar people but instead of starving they were content for they used their great utensils to feed one another.
