I was raised in a Christian household and was active in my faith for many years, but as I grew older I began to reason with myself. How can we prove a God exists? How can we prove one doesn't? And since there is no definitive answer to either side, I am now agnostic. I won't condemn anyone for believing or disbelieving in a higher power, but I like to believe that I believe in myself and that I wouldn't need help from some higher being to achieve my dreams and goals. EDIT 1: and just because you're raised a certain way doesn't mean you have to live that way... You can be raised an atheist and still find a god if you truly feel a connection. I believe everyone has the right to live the life they please without being judged or shunned.

  • This is exactly what happened to me.

  • I seriously think any person that says "I don't believe in anything" should be taken out into the streets and be publicly executed.

  • You guys are entitled to believe what you want to believe. But when you tell me you believe absolutely NOTHING in a universe where slugs with cocks on their head could be roaming around on a planet... Then you're just silly. For you to say "oh man I'm so cool I literally have to believe in nothing because I'm that cool" just makes you a chode. Your life has no meaning. That's what you're telling me right there.

  • Have you ever encountered anyone that says they don't believe in anything?

  • Why? That's just arrogant. Agnosticism is built upon logical facts; we cannot and do not know if theism or atheism is truly correct, so agnostics choose not to believe nor disbelieve. And if atheists choose not to believe, should they be punished? Of course not! It's how they choose to view the world, and since nobody can prove them wrong, there's nothing wrong with it.

  • It's not arrogant. It's just stupid to say that you don't believe in absolutely anything whenever there are so many possibilities in this universe. Open to anything and don't believe in anything are two completely different things.

  • These are my exact beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions.
