I just got the sun sword, is it actually useless?
Edit- Also does the sun ring actually do anything when you wear it?

The sun ring boosts the power of miracles. Sun sword is really good once upgraded, A scaling in strength and dex
-
Not useless, OP if uber-buffed, in fact.
-
OP you say? I'm intrigued. So just uber-buffed as in reenforced +10 or with other things?
-
Like, +10 uninfused, RoB+2 and Flynn's ring, Sacred Oath, and some buff. Hit for like 500+ damage on a fast weapon like that, two-hand to basically ignore poise. OP.
-
You were right.
-
The Sun Sword is actually really good for a quality build, as it has A scaling in both STR and DEX, but it's not so good if you're a dedicated STR or DEX build.
-
I'm not a fan of the Sun Sword, but I only use GS's and UGS's. I like something that can -blam!- shit up in 1 hit, not 5. As for the Sun Ring, it gives a 5% bonus to miracle strength according to the wiki.
-
Is there any use for sun medals after getting twenty of them?
-
You need 30 to max out your covenant devotion and get the sunlight spear miracle. They're useless after that, though.
-
I have the sunlight spear, I guess I'll just discard the others. No reason to stay in, is the dragon covenant reachable in the mid game? And how do I use certain hexes? I have the stats but I can't equip the spell.

Edited by Harbinger: 6/10/2015 12:57:13 PMYou may not have high enough attunement. Certain spells require more slots than others. I believe some take up to 3 spell slots. The Dragon Remnants covenant is only accessible once you reach Dragon's Shrine, a late game area.
To join the covenant, you must find the dragon egg on the alter, and take it to the merchant near the first bonfire in Iron Keep
I guess I'll stick with the bastard sword, thanks.

I'd recommend the Claymore or Zweihander if you currently use the Bastard Sword. The Claymore has a slightly better attack, longer reach, and better move set. The Zweihander has insane reach, and hits like a truck for its relatively low weight (for an UGS that is).
