ok, WTF? i finally finished the story, Eris' Quest, and strikes, starting to get some exotic n legendary guns n gear. so, i figure maybe NOW i can get somewhere @ the Crucible. Nope.
Yes, i'm real decent at all the other stuff but in PvP i have a k/d of, like .00000000117. i tried my hand a few times @ Control figuring that i could at least try n hold down the spot in between gettin lit-the-f#ck-up. yeah, that went as planned but HERE'S THE QUESTION - when A and B were 'theirs' and we were losing C i figured that even though it would be obvious to converge on the final front for a "hell no u ain't takin' my last spot without going through my ENTIRE team 1st!!" typa fight. NOPE. Is this going to be like CoD where everyone (no, not EVERYONE) is doing any GD thing EXCEPT the objective? and also, there was this guy (i didn't say cheat!) who was a lvl 12 who was shooting through my legendary gear w 1 shot. u can only get 1-shot legedaries n stuff for lvl 20 n over, so...I have the EXOTIC hand cannon called "THE LAST WORD" and unless i'm giving out head shots then i can't kill with one shot through the midsection of a player's Legendary Chest Armor, ya kno.
i'm not tryin' 2 b a d#ck, i swear. it just comes naturally. no, but i have had a couple drinks n smokes since this started last night. ALL I'M ASKIN' 4 is absolutely any bit of advice, insults about my mom or my dog, personal antidotes about your own journey.
Thankya

So here's what I can offer. I'm awful at PVP, however I have improved and have some matches over 2.0 K/D although rare. Start in control, like you did. Start by sticking with the guy on your team who seems to be on the ball. Help cover him and get kills with him. If you get separated, join up with someone else. This allows you to stay in the game longer and getting the hang of the mechanics. Eventually you'll feel more confident going on your own when you have to. In regular crucible (not Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris) legendaries and exotics don't matter other than with perks. So you could use white armor and weapons and still do well in PVP. This is why people seemingly shoot through your legendary armor, because it doesn't matter as much. Hand cannons, yup, you're gonna have to get head shots (unless you get Thorn). You just need to practice becoming more accurate. The Last Word is good because you can just unload on them if they're close, but you want a one-shot kill?...gotta get that head shot. I'm currently working on my aim and twitch ability with Hawkmoon. I'm terrible but I'm practicing. When I want to do better, I stick with pulse rifles because they're more forgiving.
