For whatever it may be worth, I feel your pain. I too have struggled with these types of questions. And other things related, like: I have years of training in aiming for center of mass. However in this game it is clearly intended that you will try to aim for the head. Three Little Words is a great remedy for that, BTW. Also, I'm so used to revolvers firing off the top of the cylinder that I have trouble hip-firing in the game because I end up shooting lower than my aim point. But I really enjoy the game, and I appreciate that all the guns have a different feel. And, most of the LMGs handle about like the M60, which is my closes IRL reference point. And that hatch cover really brings a lot back for me as well. I will say that I tend to sort weapon types by the ammo I would guess they'd use in real life, e.g. with ARs, I tend to think the high impact ones probably shoot something closer to a 7.62 round, while those like up for anything are probably more in the 5.56 or 5.45 range, and pea shooters are essentially firing pistol/smg rounds. Otherwise, I tend to agree with the view that while they may look kinda similar to real guns, they actually operate on different mechanics. This really comes up with how hand cannons tend to reload with a plug that doesn't even make sense for individual rounds. I tend to think it is some type of resource (matter/energy) that the gun is able to use. I mean, look at the dead shot luna. There's no box mag at all, just this cylinder on the bottom of the grip. This makes no sense in a 'bullet' context, but would work as a resource container (like air for a paintball gun...although you still need the projectiles for that, which are usually in a separate hopper). Thanks for the post! I thought I was alone! P.S. The scout rifles are my personal favorites from a real-world stance, in that I hope someday I could actually get something like the way they're designed here (and no I don't count the Steyrs and Tavors, and I think they are more like the pulse rifle design). But I can't for the life of me get my head around the purpose of the big structure on the bottom of the scout mags. Any ideas?
