I always wondered how the -blam!- a scout rifle worked, and the new ones...that mag...the...how??
English
-
They aren't firing bullets. Simple.
-
The only possibility is a gauss rifle.
-
Yeppers. In fact, if all (primary) weapons operate on gauss systems then all of OP's gripes would actually work fine.
-
Well, the mg wouldn't be, they are CLEARLY belt fed, and thorn would be the only hand cannon perp left. All other guns, yes, even the low impact high ROF autos mag size. The mg misalignment...with Activision pert of the team? Really? They didn't learn anything from over a decade on CoD? Buuuuuuuuuuulshiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
-
I was thinking this the one day and all I could manage to come up with is the magazine is essentially a can with bullets lined up in it with some sort of spring system to feed the next bullet into the spot it needs to be. How it gets out of the barrel from there is beyond me
-
So, what we firing then? Those tins need to come filled with 14-18 bullets in them, those bullets being about 7.62-7.92 rounds.
-
Well that's assuming 900 years in the future we're still using standard bullets. Could be something else entirely
-
I'm trying to make this logical for myself, using tech we have. Military tech isn't going to advance at any great rate from 'gun'
-
Well I mean in the past 500 years weapons have greatly jumped in technological advancements. Crude muskets to high tech missiles? Lasers that destroy missiles? That's wild. Imagine another 900 years. Almost double that. And they had the traveler come and give them crazy amounts of tech as well
-
I bet all that was pretty golden age before everything went to shit and we were kicked back to the stone age comparative.
-
But we had seen it and some of that knowledge retained. Not all. Some of the knowledge was applied to the current common guns in the game. Things like ice breaker and stuff were all that remained of the lost knowledge
-
That's 'exotic' tier, I.e. not that common. If it was more common and the best of out technological means were retained, then, most of the guns would be the likes of icebreaker, like Gjallarhorn. This isn't the case and most guns are standard.
-
Edited by EL CHUNKACABRA: 6/1/2015 3:52:29 PMThat's what I'm saying. The lost knowledge only left behind special weapons in the form of exotics. The knowledge retained allowed us to make our standard guns better (not special as in special slot, special as in like rare lol)

Would be the most convoluted design ever...
-
Its essentially a drum mag, layed flat, with a feed system coming out of the top of the can instead of the side. I never said it was the greatest of designs I'm simply stating what I thought
-
For what it's worth, I had the same thought... I just gave up trying to figure out how anyone could possibly consider it an efficient design... ever.
-
How efficient would a thorn be? Shooting giant stakes out of what appears to be a pretty normal sized revolver. Its just a game

Edited by JustOnePepsi: 6/1/2015 3:35:28 PMhttp://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RuleOfCool I am officially deeming the weapons based on real-world firearms to not be cool enough to be covered by the rule of cool.
-
Doesn't have to be efficient lol it just has to look cool

#SpaceMagic...

Apparently....doesn't help the autists, the OCDists and the logicists.

True story.
