I heard though that humans couldn't yet because there bodies would be to far damaged from 0 g by then.

Basically even though 0g is hard on the body, astronauts recover amazingly fast, even after long periods of time. People have spent about the time it takes to go to mars in space already, and successfully recovered.

Well a mission yo mars would have the astronauts on the surface an extended period of time. Right now its all logistical issues that are solvable. That's why they are able to have a decent timeline for going to mars laid out.
