Why shouldn't thorn be nerfed in pvp (Resonable discussion)
Thorn is much better than every single weapon in pvp and if you believe in a balanced pvp you should want a nerf. If u don't tell me why. Please have well though out answers and no shit like 'git gud'. Be sensible

6 RepliesHOLY CRAP ENOUGH!!!! If all the guns were balanced what's the point?!!! Like think about it, what the F would the point be? Why have armor choices? Why have weapon choices? Why have class or perk choices? Instead of Destiny just call it Naked Clones. Every character looks the same! You all have the same weapon! (it's a package of mustard) There's only one map to play on!(It's a four walled gray room) Still having trouble? Don't worry, Naked Clones ups your damage output and armor every time you die by 50%! That way no one will ever get a positive or negative KD or Win Ratio, just 1.0 across the board! The only thing Destiny needs to do is make a new and harder bounty that has an even MORE insane gun as the reward.

Why do I have to mute at least 5 of you a day? Thorn has done the exact same -blam!-ing damage since day one. What has changed? You whiney -blam!-ing bitches whined and whined about Fusion Rifles and Auto Rifles until they got nerfed into the ground. These nerfs made Thorn OP. Specifically Suros being effected by the AR nerf plus having its own nerfs while being a counter to Thorn also contributed to Thorn becoming OP. Is the game better or worse since you whiney bitches have got guns nerfed into uselessness? There are less guns being used now, what do you think a Thorn nerf will do? Are you trying to get this game to the point where everyone uses one weapon? This is what you are accomplishing. There was more variety in weapons before all these nerfs. Lets not ask for nerfs and ask for buffs. Buff ARs and problem solved.

I have no problem with the Thorn, it's an easy gun to counter. It is however annoying as fvck being shot by it. The Vex has killed me many, many more times than the Thorn. You can go up against that thing with a LMG and still lose, but that's fine. Leave the guns as they are and just find a way to work around it.

Agreed, First of all while is a beast in pvp, it's a great and fun to use weapon(thats my opinion because I often chose other exotics or raid weapons over thorn) it's is still awesome being able to take enemies shield down on a nightfall. My point is that if a nerf does indeed come it's no going to be for crucible only, and it will either return thorn to it's previous state(back then when it sucked) or its will be a "minor" nerf the will send the gun to oblivion just like pocket infinity and suros regime

I'd like to see some changes to the other primary weapon types to make them more appealing to players, and create more diversity in pvp. I don't think hand cannons are op, it's just annoying seeing so many of them.

Lower DoT damage to 5 and shorten the duration. Gun fixed.

1 ReplyWrong, not to be crass but in my oppinion... Hand cannons are in a great place right now and they shouldn't be nerfed They can't snipe well anymore and rapid fire gets outta control. The damage feels just right Everything else needs bumped up a bit let's face it auto rifles are crap now Pulse rifles are good mostly with a few bad ones and scouts are pretty hit or miss.

Thorn is a good weapon for those with a hand cannon preference, an affinity for that class of weapons. I have a thorn, 348 with mark of the devourer (Equipped on titan in prep for IB for next free space.) Do I use it often? Not really, just getting one elight, then ascending my Super Pox VLO and using that. From then on in, will always carry my super pox. Thorn is a hand cannon, and this who don't use hand cannons will find it harder to use. I personally find my super pox shutting down most these guys, 4th round, perfect balance, outlaw...I see dead people.

This has made it be the gun many people dread, but if Thorn is nerfed another gun will become the "most dreaded". Moreover, I feel that Thorn doesn't need a nerf because it is not so good that it is always the clear victor. Guns like the Mythoclast, Last Word, and Red Death counter this weapon quite well.
