Episode 7: One Knight in the Cosmodrome (part 2)
Harley: I told you we were going the wrong way!
Teddy: Gibbs, what the hell man?!
Gibbs: What?
Teddy: What do you mean, "what"? You've had us wandering around Russia for over 3 weeks in the wrong -blam!-ing direction you ass!
Gibbs: I guess my navigation systems were damaged in the crash.
Teddy: *sigh* just kill me now, please.
*POW* *guardian down*
Harley: What the shit, Winston?!
Winston: I'm not one to deny a man a personal request.
Harley: Gibbs...
Gibbs: Already on it.
***********
Teddy: You get one for free, Winston. Next time I'm having Gibbs disable Merv's revival protocols.
Merv: What did I do?
Teddy: Guilty by association, Merv.
Ratchet: I'm detecting a large ship inbound from the northeast. Unknown faction and origin.
Harley: Find cover gentlemen. We're gonna commandeer us a jumpship.
We took cover beneath the wreckage of an old colony ship and waited for our opportunity. As the unknown visitor approached it became clear that it was a large Fallen dropship. But this one was different. It was tinted blue and bore strange markings on the hull. The ship landed a short distance from our hiding place. When the dust cleared the ship lowered its off ramp and out stepped a huge Fallen Kell with a handful of Captains and Vandals as his personal guard.
Ratchet: I'm unfamiliar with this House and its Kell.
Winston: Oh shit... that's the House of Wolves! They're supposed to be loyal to the Queen!
Teddy: How the hell do you know that?
Winston: The Queen and I, um, we kinda... know each other.
Teddy: Meaning...?
Winston: Doesn't matter. We need to get on that ship.
Ratchet: Scans show the ship has only one occupant, likely the pilot. If we're going to take it, we need to go now.
Teddy: On my mark. 3...2....1.... Now!
Our guardians jumped out from beneath the wreckage and sprinted towards the ship. The Fallen saw us just as we reached the off ramp and began firing in our direction. Teddy and Winston remained at the back of the ship returning fire as Harley made her way to the cockpit. When she arrived, she started up the engines and started the lift off procedure. She increased thrust and we took off amongst the gunfire. As we cleared the enemy's effective firing range Winston and Teddy joined Harley in the cockpit.
Teddy: Where's the pilot?
Harley: Unclear.
Teddy: Winston, head below decks and search for our missing occupant.
Winston: Who died and made you boss?
Teddy: Uhmm... I did, idiot. Now shut up, get your ass down there, and find out where our friend is hiding.
Winston: Aye, aye. ya big dumb asshole
Teddy: What was that?
Winston: Hmm? Nothing. I'll be back.
Harley: Setting course for the Forgotten Shore.
Teddy: Cancel that. We're going to the Reef.
Harley: What about our orders, Teddy?
Teddy: What orders?
Harley: Uhhhm... Knight? Intel? Ring any bells?
Teddy: Nope. Set course for the Reef.
Harley: Whatever you say. Setting course.
After a few moments Winston returned from his search of the ship, having found nothing, a worried look on his face.
Winston: I'm sorry, did someone say Reef?
Gibbs: Yes, Winston. We must warn the Queen of her Fallen subjects' impending betrayal.
Winston: Oh no.. no no no no no. I can't go to the Reef.
Teddy: What? Why?
Wibston: The Queen and I may or may not have.... A history.
Harley: Oh I can't wait to hear this.
Teddy: Mhmm. Do tell my friend.
Winston: Let's just say we had a good time. And then a not so good time.
Ratchet: I have a feeling the parts he's not telling us are gonna be hilarious.
Merv: They kind of are.
Winston: Bro, you're supposed to be on my side!
Teddy: Which side is that? The side that sucks?
Winston: Hey... hey.. -blam!- you man.
Harley burned the thrusters at maximum and propelled us into orbit. With our new coordinates entered, we made final preparations for our jump to the Reef. Our guardians strapped in, held tight to their seats and we launched into slipspace. With any luck, we'd make it to our destination in one piece this time...
