For too long the Gjallarhorn has been a crutch for PvE players! All I can see on the recruitment channel LFG's is 'must have maxed out Gjallarhorn' it's been this way for quite some time! Bungie need to step up, either nerf this weapon or even better the addition of new go to weapons with a slight increase in drop rate. There needs to be more variation, similarly just as PvP has Thorn, PvE has the Gjallarhorn. Why are we being forced into using these 'go to' weapons! Good job Bungie!
This may look like a whine post (and you might be right) but you know deep down I'm stating a legitimate fact!
This post is meant to start an actual debate or even a solution to the problem, if you're going to retort with insults or you're too dumb to think up a legitimate argument then don't respond. It's as simple as that.

You come to the Destiny forums to start a debate? That's your first problem
-
Solution: Make your own group with your own requirements Holy crap that was easy
-
The problem isn't the weapon, it's the rancid community that has spawned from this game! I finally got my Gjallagorn about a month ago, I love it. I would absolutely hate for it to be nerfed. Just as I hate for any weapon to be nerfed (even the Vex and I don't own one). More powerful weapons are a necessity in games. Every franchise has it's OP weapons/abilities (air strikes, armor lock, overshields, snipe through walls... etc), but if you dumb down EVERY powerful weapon in the game, the community will then say the bosses/levels are too powerful so lets nerf those too. We will be left with a game that is pointless to play!

Hi, I have contacted Bungie numerous times asking for Gjallarhorn to be nerfed and I got a breakthrough today. They have contacted me and will be giving Gjallarhorn a -5.5% damage reduction in the next hot fix.. Hope this helps you out.
-
I don't have gjallahorn. I think it's op in pve and PvP. I don't know if its bad how is the weapon but the RNG is.. There's no way to get something someway except for vex mithoclast or the crux for necrochasm. The problem it's gamers like me, playing since the beginning and still didn't get it, the object that make you useful for anything. That's the thinking of the most. I really don't mind, still going to use my hunger of crota and the day that gjallahorn shows up I'm going to full it and have it in the inventory for boss moments

Edited by Phobia: 6/5/2015 1:17:06 PMBungie please nerf and remove the poster because his post gave me cancer.
-
Oh my god you kids are so annoying shut up already
-
Please stop, you are about to ruin another gun. Just like the vex, and auto rifles
-
Edited by Marty-Shields: 6/5/2015 1:22:58 PMBungie is NOT the problem here it is the community on the LFG. I personally don't care if the other people in my team have gally i can do the 32/34 PoE without it
-
I saw this post on the forums Hosting normal Vault of glass lvl 34 only Must have max Gally lmfao you must be retarded you don't need To be lvl 34 or have a gally for normally Vault
-
50% of your time played has been in the crucible. 25% in strikes? Lol You have 6 hours in the arena AND ONE HOUR IN RAIDS? Man. Gtfoh. What gives you the right to say who or what or how people do shit in PVE? Go back to Crucible. Thats what Bungie is catering to any damn ways.
crybaby biaaatch

sorry

sike! not sorry.
-
Dude no. Put in the the and it will be rewarded. I think this OP weapon is nullified in Prison of Elders when you go up against Skolas with different burns and modifiers. You are forced to use other weapons and not just Gjallhorns.
-
Go whine to your paginas

This looks exactly like a whine post. It's a rocket launcher that is designed and best used to kill artificial enemies within a game. In PvP it really doesn't have any drastic advantage over any other rocket launcher in the game. They will all either kill you with one shot or miss you entirely. So, you're not getting slaughtered by it in PvP any more than other launchers. Yeah. I admit there are a few people that take fire-team requirements a bit too far. That's not on the launcher. It's all about the person putting together his preferred team. I could see a nerf if everyone that had a gjallerhorn (sp.) just ran around in PvP murdering everyone else, but it isn't like that. The launcher is a PvE weapon where it doesn't hurt anybody (but artificially created enemies). Just give up. Go curl up in a corner and throw a crying tantrum like an entitled child if you have to, but get it out of your system and just move on. Nothing is wrong with the gjallerhorn.
-
How bout you actually try earning one and not complaining
-
Maybe you should play more and stop whining.
-
-
I gotmy 3rd Gjallarhorn from the night fall yesterday. My 1st and 2nd were from the nightfall as well. It will drop.
-
Drop rate for Gjallarhorn is the same for any exotic
-
Said no one ever.
-
Lmao!
-
Haha you mad n00b? Git Good, scrub!
-
The problem is people and RNG, not the gjallarhorn. You're not gonna stop people from being dicks by punishing them and taking their toys away. They're just gonna find something else to be dicks about. I'm with the other posters here saying that nerfing the best PvE rocket because, essentially, you don't personally have one, is misguided. The better solution: build your own LFG group so you're the one calling the shots. Go ahead and require the gally to compensate for your lack of having one if you want!
-
For my part of the discussion, the gjallarhorn is fine as is. Anyone who wants it that badly will keep playing weekly and going for every exotic chance possible. Anyone not willing to do that does not deserve the weapon. /end thread
-
Well then do what you can to get urself one and stop whining about it.
-
All kidding aside, I know the pain of not having gally. I just found groups that didn't care. Took longer, but I found them. Now with the update, there's a ton good launchers. Get a good one with tracking and do some Crota raids. Either find a gally or a Hunger of Crota. I was never turned away by a group doing Hard Crota when I had my HoC. Keep doing hard raids, nightfall, and PoE until you get it. I've been seeing it drop a lot lately, but never from a strike which you seem to play the most.
